VP Records celebrated its 25th Anniversary in Miami on Sunday 30th May with an all-star concert at downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park with approximately 15,000 of their closest friends.

The show attracted media and fans alike from several countries across the globe who joined South Florida music fans for an evening of reggae and dancehall with a suprise appearance from the World's hottest soca artist of the moment.

The early lineup included Marcia Griffiths who was backed by the Harmony House Band. She sang many of her solo hits and a few melodies from her tenure with Marley's I-Threes. A short but sweet set from Morgan Heritage, really shifted the audience into gear as the group sang without their instruments also backed by the Harmony House Band.

Despite the heat the energetic crowd threw up flags from all over, flags could be seen representing the Bahamas, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago and just about every other Caribbean nation, however the dress code of the day was dominated by green and gold, the colors of the Jamaican flag.

A solid performance came later in the middle of the evening from Tanya Stephens who was joined on stage by Spragga Benz, one of the evening's many suprise artists. Tanya sang many of the hits from her critically acclaimed CD "Gangsta Blues" including "It's a Pity."

It seemed as if each set would be the peak of the show as superstar after superstar followed each other to the stage. There was Baby Cham, Sanchez, Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Sasha and the group T.O.K.

Then Sizzla set the crowd on fire with a barrage of hits, he was followed by Elephant Man who brought the crowd to a frenzy with his dance hits. Kevin Lyttle took the stage as a suprise artist and gave a quick accapella rendition of his ubitiquos hit "Turn Me On", he was followed by Capleton who closed the show.

The treatment of the press during this show was top notch, not only were ample tents provided backstage, the artists were also extremly co-operative and press-friendly. They were definetly feeling the vibe.

The VP 25th Anniversary Concert will be remembered by all who were there for the good vibes, the wicked performances and for being the day when almost all of reggae's top acts came together in unity to celebrate our music.
